Reel Styling Wednesday | Week 3

I missed a week due to covid, but I’m back with another round.

This one is is a smaller styling piece. I absolutely love the burl wood chest! I also love all the color and personality in this one; I can just imagine it in a teenage room or a hip home in walking distance to all the coolest bars and restaurants. Do people even say hip anymore…am I aging myself? On that note, do people even dine out anymore?! And we KNOW blogs are probably rarely read, so in that case, I’ll say what I want! Apparently, I’m old in my skinny jeans and side part anyway (laughing emoji).

Burl wood dresser styling

This one started with the chest. I also wanted a wallpaper with some color but not too pattern crazy because of the pattern in the chest; it’s a good mix. I wanted a bold, high contrast art to pack a punch against the small details in the pattern. I also layered a more “characterized” art in front of it. This art is sized down so the bold, clean art can be the most striking. I also used a print with a person because there is so much pattern already happening that I think another abstract piece would just be more “noise”. This piece would be the perfect spot to show your personality. I have some other options in the scroll, above. You can frame it in a simple white or brass frame and either lean it or put it on a stand.

I used an acrylic lamp to tie into the knobs on the dresser and also not add any more visual competition to the pattern and bold art. The acrylic gives a slight glam vibe. The ombre candle sticks are so fun; they are making me feel ready for spring! Lastly, the bird sculptures add a touch of whimsy and organic lines.

Hope you enjoy!
